„Future Mobility and Other Ghosts from the Past“ fragt nach der Zukunft von Transporttechnologien.
"Future Mobility and Other Ghosts from the Past" inquires about the future of transportation technologies. However, it doesn't focus on the possibilities of tomorrow; rather, it looks back from the perspective of a stagnant future onto our present as a bygone era. The exhibition is designed as an experiential journey through fragmented memories, akin to anthropological artifacts from a time of unrestricted mobility. The artworks not only evoke associative sensations of travel but also reflect on the aesthetic peculiarities of an increasingly standardized transportation space, blurring the boundary between the subjective and the collective. In this context, progress appears not as a panacea but as a disquieting reminder of constant acceleration that cannot catch up with what it has triggered.
The exhibition "Future Mobility and Other Ghosts from the Past," conceived by Mathias Lempart and Sascia Reibel, was created within the framework of the Peter Jacobi Scholarship.
