As a result of the pandemic, we have become slaves to the absurd, because of the law incompatible with its constitutional foundations, and, above all, to our own conscience. Youth allows us to defend ourselves with vigour and imagination, however it is on us that most of the economic and psychological consequences of COVID-19 will fall. We are already beginning to see signs of them when we look into the shopping basket, or receive bills for our rented accommodation. It is possible that the increasing economic pressure is not the worst outcome of the pandemic, but rather the fading interest in young art expressed by society and even art institutions.
The works themselves are expressions of our souls and they bring hope, contrast and demonstrate our ability to see and draw on what can be discovered in life. It is not easy for us, but at the same time we are aware that we live in the first world. We are privileged, therefore it is easier for us to adapt to the situation, it is easier for us to dream.
