One like One amen

Welcome to ‘One Like One Amen’, an exhibition from the French multimedia artist Anaïs Goupy. In her latest show, the artist presents a bold and rich cosmos, merging digital and analogical elements within the same space. This cosmos depicts the hybrid relationship between humans and machines. Indeed, the digital matter is embodied by «Bachelor Machines»: ventilator sculptures showcasing typical and moral messages from social media for instance for Instagram. This materialisation of the digital language also evokes the clutter of digitalisation in our private life. To which extent are our relationship with friends and relatives/ our love stories and sexual life, ruled over by the digital? In this installation, Anais Goupy’s work embodies this critical association between digital and real life. Her paintings and wall display communicate the proposition through an aesthetic closed to 90’s pop culture. Her spectrum shines over web feminism and post internet art. With her multi-disciplinary skills, the artist creates a kind of camouflage layering from familiar light screens to different and surprising stands. « How everybody uses everything, how everything uses everybody », the psychedelic forms and colourful treatment definitely brings the viewer in a joyful yet -by essence- dramatical truth… Visiting ‘One Like One Amen’ would maybe be like watching a Californian sunrise just before a storm rises.
