Rebekka Kronsteiner X Sabrina Podemski in exchange with Paulina Seyfried and Sofia Steffens [B]last noun Blɑːst (EN) explosion, a bomb blast, a blast of air, loud noise, criticism, fun, the party was a blast, something that stays, to last for a long time, most recent (DE) Last, die: etwas, was drückend, schwer auf jemandem, etwas liegt; [größeres] Gewicht, das etwas belastetText
The exhibition [B]last marks an intermediate state, a transition and becomes a place of negotiation - what is to be preserved, passed on or blown up? Focus is placed on questioning and expanding one‘s own, previously known fields of action and agency.
[B]last develops in verbal and material exchange between Rebekka Kronsteiner and Sabrina Podemski with Paulina Seyfried and Sofia Steffens. Fragmentary testimonies of this negotiation of preservation and change in the moment of upheaval emerge in the exhibition and can be carried out of it. Objects in the space oscillate between fragility and stability, between utility and aesthetic experience. The exhibition becomes a construction site, emblematic of a state of action, transformation and creation.
Blast forever –
It was a blast – don't wanna last – forever – (blast).
You really want to last forever?
Sadly someone was hurt in the blast.
Wounds will heal but scars will last.
There's no "too furious" and no "too fast".
Which (questionable) traditions determine everyday life? How can irritations be provoked? How can spaces for the new emerge? By means of micro-practices, one's own action in the immediate environment, processes of negotiating, connecting, collaging and overlapping can be provoked.

A jointly developed pocket calendar gives insights into the working process. It not only serves to document an exchange of letters between the four actors, but also encourages its use and continuation. The calendar can be purchased in the exhibition for 10 - 30 €. The proceeds will be donated to the JugendTreff of the Alte Feuerwache. The first day is the 18th of June, the day of the opening. The calendar can be used for any year.
Our sincere thanks go to Ihsan Alisan for the invitation, Friederike Lauschke for the graphic design and Charlotte Rohde for the free use of her typeface “Kéroïne”. We also thank the “Schwarzweiß Fotolabor” for the contribution to the production costs of the calendar.
