Subheadline

The painted and manipulated glass panes reflect so strongly that the viewers can recognize themselves in the painted space. This allows the opposite to experience itself as an amorphous figure in the work in an elsewhere. The other of the other - the third - is solidified by the present materiality.

Text

The focus of my artistic work are series of works created with reverse glass painting - that is, painting executed on the back of glass panes - which are made with oil and acrylic. My interest is to constantly develop my artistic work, expanding the reception dimension of the works physically and visually. In particular, I try to achieve a distortion in the experience of one's own reflection when viewing the work. The glass surface, deformed in all dimensions by heat, becomes a sculpture placed on the wall. The deformation of the glass results in a strong and unpredictable reflection of light due to diffraction, which constantly deflects or redirects the image reflected in the work. When viewing the work, this creates continuously changing viewing conditions. When the viewer's angle of vision changes, the transplanted surface also appears changed. In this way, situational and virtual images emerge, which are perceived as cracks as well as gaps and represent the enigmatic third. The opposite thus stands in a continuum with the work - in harmony.
