Julia Belova considers what themes might be relevant to the Baroque today. Following the canon of style, she sticks to drama. A vivid example of this here is the theme of rejection / repudiation.

The main object of the exhibition is the porcelain sculpture Najadenbrunnen, whose modern interpretation the artist created, inspired by the baroque fountain of the same name in Schönbrunn Park. This work symbolizes a collective image of the Baroque, always based on a dramatic view of the world, abundance and luxury, overwhelmed by its "heavenly" grandeur. In "Art Talks", a podcast hosted by gallerist Rudolf Leeb, he talks to the young Russian artist Julia Belova about how she begun to work with porcelain as the preferred material for her sculptures. Julia Belova studied in St. Peterburg, did an Erasmus year in Stockholm and has been studying in Vienna at the Academy of Fine Arts for four years.
